so zidane for QPR manager. that's the most outrageously silly story i've read for a while.

what is it with liverpool and buying lots of players but all of them are itty bitty and get injured all the while? and why hasn't benitez gone for a top 5 in the world central defender? surely that's what he needs the most. if he had a defended on the level of ferdinand, at least he could say they were solid at the back. the forwards are good, the midfield is good but the defence is a bit ropey.

he needs to sort that shit out before pissing away money on a defensive midfielder who isn't even that good (barry).

agger and skrtl will end up being in the top 5-10 and carra already is
defense is not the problem
if you hadn't noticed, we keep the goals down, but we only have 2 players that can score them.

and yes, it is.

carragher is not a top centre back. mainly bcause he can't pass the ball peroperly. until he is as comfortable on the ball as a midfielder, he won't be top.

liverpool is not set up to score goals.

any defender who has issues with passing the ball is not a top defender. how can he be? he's a good last ditch defender. he struggles against pace.

i really like him as a good reserve defender but you can see he's struggling against some players. sure his passing has got better but it's still weak. he's not in terry or ferdinand's league. come on.

all the best teams have a defence which can push up. you don't want carragher and co to push up. that's why they don't.

essien is a better centre back than carragher and that's not even his position.

p.s. Essien is brilliant.

top defenders don't need to pass the ball? really?

answer this: who is better, ferdinand post haircut or carragher? it's a no brainer.

carragher is so good at centre back that he's the first person to get moved to right back when a hole needs plugging. that's how irreplaceable he is at centre back.
