Well this season has been a train wreck so far for Putz he got hurt and hasn't been himself since returning. I'm trying to swing a trade for a top closer but haven't heard back from the other teams yet.
Anyways, does anybody have any insight on the guy?
Should I be patient or cut him and move on?
Anybody else have any similar fantasy baseball issues?
feel free to post them here.
tell me i'm not pretty much fucked for a closer right now

yeah he didn't pitch last night against my Brewers.
i wish he had... the Brewers would have had a better chance.
Seattle sucks this year (14-24 thus far) and only has 6 saves between the pitching staff..Putz having 2 of those
at this point, i don't think you can trade him away simply because, who wants him right now..he holds zero stock..i would shop one of your starting pitchers since you have a shit ton of them and grab up a top notch RP
edit...i think you have to hold onto him a little while...he is still Seattle's man and i don't see him being this bad for all season, he HAS to get better...and when he is himself, he is one of the best

closers are probably the touchiest guys in the game..even with their skill, they have to have the opportunities to even get the save. they are the position i pay the least amount of attention to...in a ROTO league though like yourself, you have to pay attention to it because getting a 1 on it just kills you..who else are you relying on to grab up some saves?Seattle sucks this year (14-24 thus far) and only has 6 saves between the pitching staff..Putz having 2 of those

I actually have two trade offers out there:
Dice-K for Papelbon
and
Dice-K for K-Rod
I haven't heard back from the teams yet, but I'd be willing to give up just about any of my pitchers with the exception of Webb.
tough place you are stuck in though..

yeah Webb MUST be a mainstay in your rotation..you can not give up a guy like him...i want to say do the whole SELL HIGH thing with Lee and Greinke..but Lee just isn't showing signs of slowing down and has excellent command this year (39:2) K:BB ratio...and Greinke has always been that guy that has the talent, but just need something to put him over the top..tough place you are stuck in though..
it's a good thing I have 141-130 lead over 2nd place.......
I just want to address the only current weakness.
in my other league i have Saito and C.J. Wilson
in both my leagues i tried getting rid of some of my good positional players for another closer but no one wanted to give them up
they are ok, not overwhelming saves or anything but they keep me in the race for the category

my rmb team only has 1 closer, wood =/
I had Wood and Gagne early on, but they were killing my ER, ERA, and WHIP.
Their occasional save wasn't worth keeping them on my roster.
Holliday
Man Ram
Ellsbury
McLouth
I could fit him in as a Utility player, but then I'd have to decide between Victor Martinez and Ryan Doumit.
I have a couple of days to decide, but I also am 7th on waiver list.
They are paying him 10 million this year, so I would expect them to try and fix his issues.

unless you can find FA pickups of guys who just picked up closer roles from guys that have sucked this year (gagne, izzy) or got hurt (borowski) then I wouldn't worry about trading for a closer. what you have is good enough to keep you middle of the [ack in saves and the rest of your staff is super solid, I wouldn't sacrifice any of your starters, save maybe olsen for anything but an elite closer.
