-cracks knuckles and clears thoat-

Religions are simply the outgrowth of ancient myths and dogmas handed down from
generation to generation and formalized into faiths, rituals and traditions.

Allow me a second and I will explain....

You obviously have no grasp on the religious concept. Seeing is not believing, when it comes to religion. Religion does not require one to *see* a "god"...
That is the..ahem.. beauty of religion. A religious person can argue anything you have to say, with one statement... " My faith does not require absolute physical, or otherwise... proof"...

etc.. etc,...

Ever since the dawn of mankind, 24 years ago, when God revealed the possiblity of his existence to mankind by giving humans a powerful imagination, people have wondered about their origins. Where did we come from? Who created us? Over the centuries, to answer these very basic questions, our storytellers have invented many myths, stories and dogmas. Religions are simply the outgrowth of these ancient myths and dogmas handed down from generation to generation and formalized into faiths, rituals and traditions.

Human Imagination, mankind's "special sense", is the power that separates mankind from all the other animals on Earth - it is made possible by a powerful brain, capable of comprehending the wonders of nature and the world we live in. Mankind now had the power to begin to comprehend the beauty that surrounded it. Something must have created all this magnificient beauty. I can "see" for myself, through my imagination, the beauty of its creations - it is everywhere I look. In order to understand the true nature of God, the Creator of the universe, we must separate the myths of mankind from the physical evidence of God's existence.

You see, "GOD" is not absolute. That is, GOD is not , in anyway, to be defined.

To better explain, think of how someone sees GOD, as some might see their music... it is open to interpretation.

it makes ZERO sense to me.idk maybe thats just the way its supposed to be.

*blink*

What? LOl

That comment right there, that you made, shows just how truely ignorant we humans are.

You assume that any GOD could be proven...

What if GOD does exist, but we cannot *see* because our senses are so very limited?

Think about it.. how many other animals are superior to us in senses... You doubt there are more than our 5 senses? I do not. We just have to get passed our sense, which is why we( i believe) are here. To get beyond ourselves, to... transcend, if you will... our own egos.

And no, that is not religious propagand. In no way do I subscribe to any organized religion.

Organized religion gives hope? Sure...

But how many countless millions has it killed, on its way to the top of the charts? It is nothing more than a tool to control the masses.

ok i know part of my responsibility as a catholic is share my faith... but truth be told, i think everyone can believe what they want to believe.... i really could care less if someone went to hell or to heaven, i got enough to deal with on my own plate.

and yes a lot of religious people only pick and choose what they follow in the church, ie. sex, porn, etc. but we're human we sin, that' just part of life.

religious ppl seem to be happy because they appreciate what is given to them more. face it, somethings you can't explain. i mean seriously, when something great happens in your life... you really think you're thanking "the world" ya ok...

If he was truly god he could make it so that we CAN sense him. Problem solved.

Right. So if a little boy is bad, and cries enough... mommy and daddy should buy him that bike cos he is sorry?

Your logic is flawed.

Have you ever worked for somehting in your life? If you have, you'd realize what a dim-witted comment that was. How much more do you appreciate something, when you EARN it?

Besides, if there is a GOD.. GOD may be the "dead-beat dad".... but he is also the author. Think about that, do you think you should bow down to the characters of a book you wrote, or do they do your will?

Lol "Nobody can walk on water"...

People need to stop taking the bible so literal.

PEOPLE LOOK:

The bible was OBVIOSULY written by MEN, their OWN thoughts... have you ever read the bible? not just a few pages.. I mean READ it... it constantly contradicts itself.. Hmm.. contradiction, sound familiar? A typical human trait perhaps?

I think so.

Bottom line: GOD is not a thing, or any form/spirit.. not really. YOU are GOD. Why are YOU GOD? Because YOu shape your own destiny. Every choice you make, from taking a piss to taking a walk, will decide who you will be in 20 years.

You people need to brush up on your "facts" before you discuss a subject, and expect to be taken seriously.

Case in point: About the burning of animals, for religious reason... dude, that was SO Bible part 1.

I am not quite sure if this statement means what I think it does...

What I believe you meant was, and if so I agree 100% ... that PEOPLE are their own god.. people ARE capable of doing wonderful things. They just put their faith in casper the friendly ghost, instead of eachother...

You see, people.. by discussing this as much as humans do, we are showing just exactly WHY we have religion....

We are curious by nature.

If there is a god, this god would wish us to not worry so much about *finding* him... but finding eachother. And then perhaps, when we do find eachother, we find him.. ?

What can I say? I am cocky, by nature. Not to mention, Irish. My country of birth is one of many that has been ripped apart by religion.

I am very passionate about this subject. No, not becuase I care to find a god, but to understand exactly why it rips the souls from people. Also, it is frowned upon, in Ireland.. to discuss this in public.

In public? Bah. It NEEDS to be discussed in public. Why? Bedcause discussion is how we open the doors to understanding, and understanding is what makes us grow as human beings.

No, he is not. And I do not say this because he realizes my awesome jedi-like mind, but because 98% of the comments in here have been illogical.

*98% may be a bit much, but it gets to the point, of my point.

WHAT?So the people who don't believe there is a god are illogical? My friend I think your head is screwed on backwards.

PROVE it.
When it is proven to me I will believe it.i'mnot saying I don't want to believe it.i'm saying Im one of those people who need proof.

Holy shit. I can actually feel muyself becoming dumber, with every post your make.

I am not saying peoples beliefs are illogical, I am saying the REASONING behind this belief, and the explainations given, are illogical.

I tend to use logic when I converse, you should follow suite.

Also, If you had payed attention to anything I had said.. you'd notice I am NOT religious, in any sense of the word. Believing in a GOD does not mean one is religious.. Educate yourself, before commenting on... anything.
