when i was there i noticed different types just in the same city under different conditions... last day i was there was the worse... almost cracked my head up twice cause the rain had turned the night snow fall into basic slushy....

Halifax is so weird. This year so far its snowed a lot a bunch of times. We get nice snowbanks and 5 inches everywhere. Next thing you know it freezing (-15/-20) for a few days, then goes above zero, rains lots, everything melts and you start all over again.

i've driven in a storm between montreal and my place in new brunswick (700km ish) with bald summer tires and no rear brakes. this thread makes me laugh since I could care less if theres no snow, 1 cm or a foot of it, but I can empathize with someone who's not used to it.
