Making this topic as a reminder.....a • will indicate a new or edited entry

Preamble

You, the people of this forum, in order to have a more enjoyable atmosphere, should acknowledge this Constitution. The Day Today - Politics & Religion is a forum on RMB where people can discuss and debate politics and religion although any intellectual discussion is welcome here. In order to make this forum conductive to rational discussion, rules are necessary. Rules will be updated as necessary since these guidelines and rules are a living document and evolve to accomodate a changing forum atmosphere or unforeseen contingencies.

Article I: Posts and Topics Kahalachan and stoner90405 Will Delete

-SPAM and blatant advertising. Posting links to sites containing information that pertains to the topic will not be considered advertising. (i.e. I will not assume you are advertising Wikipedia or Yahoo News if you post a link there)

-Duplicate posts or topics (as a courtesy)

-OFF TOPIC posts that disrupt the flow of a thread

Article II: Posts and Topics Kahalachan and stoner90405 Will Edit

-Posts that contain racial, gender, sexual orientation slurs, or any extremely pejorative terms. I will maintain the spirit of your post though and keep as much of it intact as possible.

-Images that contain disturbing images will have the image tags changed to URL tags with a warning in order to maintain the integrity of the original post while allowing other posters the option of choosing what images they wish to see.

Article III: Topics Kahalachan and stoner90405 Will Lock

-Blatant disregard for RMB rules. See http://www.ratemybody.com/forum/forum_rules.aspx

-Politics and religion can get heated. So a few cuss words at someone can slip OK. Some sarcastic humor is OK even if not that funny. Consistent harassment is what'll get locked.

-Topics that are not duplicates but virtually identical in subject matter. The topic that is posted first will remain. (ex. Someone makes a topic about something in the news and another person makes a topic about that same news story)

-Topics that exceed 20 pages due to a limitation in RMB to display more than 20 pages. A new topic may be created to continue that discussion.

Article IV: Topics Kahalachan and stoner90405 Will Move

-Mindless religious or political group bashing to Rants and Raves. Good debates are encouraged here, but whining about a certain political group or religious/non-religious group can go where it belongs.

-Preaching and propoganda to General/Misc. You can be like those guys I see in public on the street corners who yell about the end of the world in General/Misc. Sharing your faith or non-faith is OK, but parrotting is what'll probably get moved.

-Topics that have nothing to do with P&R into the appropriate forum.

Article V: What to do if you think Kahalachan or stoner90405 makes a moderating mistake.....

-Kindly inform them, preferably in private, and have an intelligent discussion with him concerning how to best run a forum. Kahalachan or stoner90405 isn't omniscient and will welcome rational rebuke.

-Suggest an Ammendment to this Constitution if you feel Kahalachan or stoner90405 makes repeated errors in judgement.

Article VI: Kahalachan and stoner90405 are clever but not omniscient

-So trying to find loopholes around rules is not going to fool me. (i.e. You normally don't post with a wide vocabulary but refer to an African American as niggardly; We will catch on)

-If Kahalachan or stoner90405 missed something, they did not do it on purpose. Kindly message Kahalachan or stoner90405 and inform them if they overlooked a violation of rules.

Article VII: Guidelines: (Not rules that will be enforced, but it will make this forum better. Promise)

-Cite sources for claims that are debatable and not common knowledge.

-Avoid logical fallacies during debate.

Help with Youtube:

I've noticed you guys have been having some issues embedding youtube videos. This is because in order to embed a youtube video, the youtube video must come first and all text must come after that in order for the coding to work. Just as it appears in this topic, the youtube is first and any explanations or commentary come after that.

If you want to post multiple youtubes, the tags must be right next to each other without any spaces.

In accordance to the 1st Ammendment, I will leave this here and update as needed.

1st Amendment:

Kahalachan and stoner90405 will use this topic to provide assistance to RMBers and notify them of any changes to forum layout, coding, or features in order to facilitate more convenience for posting.

2nd Amendment:

Posters have the right to have their topics locked and their posts deleted upon request so long as said request is not perceived as an attempt to disrupt forum activity, create glitches, harass Kahalachan and stoner90405, or circumvent preexisting rules.

3rd Amendment:

Posters have the right to know why their topics were locked or moved or their posts edited or deleted. This right is usually granted by the moderator posting the reason the topic is locked in the locked or moved topic or offering an explanation in an edited post. This right is not granted by the poster making a new topic or disrupting another topic asking why their post or topic was edited, deleted, or locked. Aforementioned posts or topics will also be edited, deleted, or locked. This right can be exercised by privately messaging the moderator.

4th Amendment:

Posters have the right to a little side banter and socialization. Since RMB is a social networking site, socialization is allowed, nay encouraged in P&R. For this reason, the moderator will allow the utmost flexibility in what constitutes a combination of socialization and topics or replies geared towards this forum.

Current Reminders: (Stay tuned here for updates)

-Remember to message moderators, rather than make a new topic. If you don't want to it still doesn't deserve its own topic in this forum.
